Issue Position

As Americans we are privileged to live in a nation that provides education to our children. The education system in place today is broken and needs reform. Our nation needs to better support the teachers that are instructing the leaders of tomorrow. If we fail to provide the education that our children need to live productive adult lives then they will fail our nation as leaders. Education funding must be funded locally and federally. However, just because Washington may provide funding does not give them the right to dictate how students should be educated. That should be left to the state and local governments. For families that choose to educate their children outside of the public school system they should have benefits provided to them. A homeschool family should not pay double to educate their children.
